Build the SELECT or MULTISELECT option list for a field, from a canned template or defined by hand, inline or as a reusable custom list.

Build the option list for a SELECT or MULTISELECT field: either from a canned template or defined interactively. The skill emits the options JSON, which you can inline in a single field definition or save as a named, reusable custom list that multiple fields share. Custom lists are an admin-page concern: they apply via the Bulk Import page (or /en/admin/custom-lists for one-at-a-time edits), never through suggest_change.

When to use

When a SELECT or MULTISELECT field needs its option list: a severity scale, a status set, a frequency, a region or regulator list. Reach for it whenever you’d otherwise hand-write an options array.

The skill has two modes. /coach-custom-list template severity-mw-sd-cd prints the SOX severity options (Material Weakness, Significant Deficiency, Control Deficiency) and asks whether to inline them in a field or save them as a reusable custom list. /coach-custom-list custom builds a list from scratch, one option (value + label) at a time. The canned templates cover:

  • Severity: SOX, AssureSwarm IM Policy ratings, and a generic critical/high/medium/low scale
  • Status: open/in-progress/closed, and draft/review/approved/rejected
  • Frequency: daily through annual
  • Priority: P0–P3
  • Audit: audit type and audit phase (planning/fieldwork/reporting/closed)
  • Step status: matching the platform Step status
  • Regions and regulators: matching the shared-core lists on the authority_source item

Good to know

Section titled “Good to know”
  • Value strings should be stable. Once data exists with a given value, changing the value breaks historical filters: labels can change freely, values shouldn’t.
  • Sharing a list across types keeps ratings consistent: one severity list referenced by issue, risk, and audit means everyone rates the same way.
  • Framework citations (SOC 2 TSC clauses, ISO Annex A controls, SOX 404 references) are not custom-list values. They route through links to authority_source items, with granular clause codes as free text on the policy’s obligation field; the old compliance_criteria list has been retired.
