An in-page picker that finds another workflow step and returns a clean markdown link to it: ready to paste into a step's instructions or notes, no URL-copying between tabs.

Insert a hyperlink to another workflow step without leaving the page. The skill browses the steps on an audit’s workflow, filters them by title, and returns a clean markdown link with the step’s title as the display text: ready to paste into another step’s instructions or notes. It’s read-only: it hands back a link and writes nothing to Canvas. It replaces the open-the-other-audit-in-a-new-tab, copy-the-URL, switch-back, paste dance.

When to use

When you’re writing a step’s instructions or notes and want to cross-reference another step, a related procedure, a prerequisite, without juggling browser tabs to copy its URL.

Inputs

--search <text> No Fuzzy-match against step titles.
--audit <audit-id> No Narrow to one audit’s workflow. Defaults to the audit you’re currently in.
--limit <n> No How many matches to show. Default 10.

Example

/coach-workstep-hyperlink-picker --search walkthrough lists the steps on your current audit’s workflow whose titles match “walkthrough”, each with its parent audit and status, and when you pick one, returns a ready-to-paste markdown link like [Perform walkthrough](https://…). Paste it into any text field. With no --audit and no current audit in view, it offers a picker of active audits first.

Good to know

Section titled “Good to know”
  • Read-only. It returns a markdown link and never writes to Canvas.
  • Always a formatted link, never a raw URL: the display text is the step’s full title, so it renders cleanly in edit mode instead of showing a bare URL.
  • It defaults to the audit you’re currently viewing; pass --audit to point somewhere else, or answer the picker when there’s no current audit.
  • The deep-link format is built from your tenant’s Canvas URL, so the links it returns are specific to your instance.
